**Who we are**:
Established in 2000, the Dural Christmas Tree Farm is now Sydney’s largest fresh Christmas tree farm where members of the public can come to buy Christmas trees. We are Sydney’s only Christmas Tree Farm offering fresh Christmas trees from the farm as well as pre-cut Christmas trees with services including netting, delivery and installation in Cinco Christmas tree stands, with a collection and recycling service also available.

**What we seek**:
**Dural Christmas Tree Farm **is seeking **Arborist**.

Reporting to manager, arborist will be responsible for the care, maintenance, and management of Christmas trees, ensuring their health, safety, and aesthetic appeal.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Planting Christmas Trees at the properties where Christmas tree plantations are grown and managed by The Purple Lion Group Pty Ltd from time to time.
- Maintenance of Christmas Trees including, but not limited to, trimming, fertilisation, weed management, disease and insect control.
- Maintenance of irrigation systems on the properties where Christmas tree plantations are grown and managed by The Purple Lion Group Pty Ltd.
- Training and supervision of casual employees employed by The Purple Lion Group Pty Ltd from time to time.
- Ordering materials and supplies required for the maintenance of the Christmas trees including, but not limited to, chemical sprays and fertilisers
- Ensuring Chemical handling and first aid training and education is up to date
- Waste management for farm and building business premises
- Recycling of Christmas trees

**To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following skills and knowledge**:
Tree Care Expertise: Profound knowledge of tree species, their growth patterns, and specific care requirements.

Pruning and Trimming: Skill in safely and effectively pruning and trimming trees to promote healthy growth and reduce hazards.

Tree Assessment: The ability to assess tree health, diagnose diseases and pest infestations, and recommend appropriate treatments.

Safety Awareness: A strong commitment to safety protocols, including proper use of equipment, hazard identification, and risk management.

Environmental Awareness: Understanding of ecological considerations, conservation principles, and regulations related to tree preservation and urban forestry practices.

**Essential Attributes & Qualifications**
- Physical Fitness: Strong physical stamina and fitness to handle the demands of climbing trees, operating heavy equipment, and performing strenuous tasks for extended periods.
- Safety Consciousness: A high level of safety awareness and adherence to safety guidelines to mitigate risks associated with tree work.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication abilities to interact with clients, colleagues, and the public, as well as to provide clear explanations and recommendations for tree care.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The capacity to analyze tree-related issues, make informed decisions, and develop innovative solutions to address tree health, safety, and maintenance challenges.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience as an Arborist
