**About the Role**
- Full time Permanent Position
- Classification: Consumer Service Delivery Level 3 with a salary range of $77,656- $83,565 per annum + Superannuation
- Location: Mascot NSW 2020

**Overview of the position**

The Aboriginal Liaison Officer will be part of a team that works within an integrated service delivery model to provide health, housing, rehabilitation and support services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The ALO will not only work with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander clients but also non-Aboriginal clients working under an assertive outreach model aimed at providing integrated services that focus on transitioning from homelessness or risk of homelessness to safe, secure and sustainable long term accommodation, prevention of re-offending and improved health outcomes

**About the STEP program**

The STEP program forges partnerships and develops housing pathways for those experiencing primary and secondary homelessness in the Sydney region. The STEP B team works closely with the Homelessness Outreach Support Team at DCJ to support people sleeping rough to be rapidly housed and provides post-crisis wrap around support. Join our team and share the unique opportunity of contributing to the implementation of an innovative service. STEP is a housing first approach to support people who sleep rough to secure long term housing and be provided wrap around support to remain housed.

**What you will bring to the role?**
- Experience in Outreach and in the homelessness sector
- Experience and knowledge working with consumers that identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders
- To partake in case coordination meetings specifically focused on support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait islanders consumers of the service
- Ability to advocate for consumers to access permanent housing
- Ability to work independently and within a team

**Mandatory role requirements**:

- National Criminal History Check (Police check) - disclosable outcomes considered
- Current Working with Children check prior to commencement
- Current Vulnerable Persons Check required before commencement of work
- Current Drivers licence
- Australian Working Rights
