**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Barker College is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, innovative and enthusiastic teacher of Agriculture.

While this is predominantly an Agriculture teaching role, the capacity to teach a combination of Agriculture and Science may be of interest.

**This will be a permanent, Part-Time (0.6FTE) or potential Full-Time (1.0FTE) teaching role commencing 24 April 2023.**

Applicants will be able to demonstrate a track record of:

- An ability to challenge students academically
- An ability to deliver engaging lessons
- An understanding of key concepts and the ability to demonstrate agricultural practical techniques
- An awareness and ability to provide and manage a safe work environment, particularly in regards to practical activities and excursions
- An ability to attend Agriculture excursions for year groups across the faculty, including overnight excursions.

Applicants should be able to work and contribute in a team environment. They will be able to provide curriculum support in the development of new programs and be open to new ideas. Applicants will foster the use and implementation of new technologies in teaching and learning.

- Barker College is a child safe organisation and all statutory checks and references are required prior to confirmation of employment. A NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a National Police Check will be required.

- Barker College policy requires staff to have received two (2) Covid-19 vaccine doses
- Barker College will require all Teaching Staff to provide evidence of their Tertiary Qualifications and have an understanding of and experience in relevant NESA syllabus documents and teacher accreditation requirements
- All teaching staff participate in the School’s extensive Pastoral Care and co-curricular programs. The ability to coach sports is highly desirable.
