With more than 15 years of adventures in prop-tech, Kolmeo gives real estate agencies around Australia the right tools and technology to perfectly balance the tenant, owner, and property manager relationship. In fact, we used to BE the customer - a prop-tech company born out of property management - so we intimately understand their joys and sorrows (and our customers are at the heart of everything we do).
**So what’s the gig?**
Kolmeo is on the hunt for a **Product Designer **on a 10+ month fixed term contract (parental leave coverage) to help with UX design, working closely with our Product and Technology teams to design value-add user experiences, and use their UX chops to understand HCI & HCD principals to help inform, problem solve, and design a better way forward.
Our Product Designer will partner with product managers and business analysts, as well as senior Product Designers, to unpack user feedback, market insights, and system of business requirements to identify experience opportunities for the product.
**A day in the life of a Product Designer**:
- Work with Product and Technology to articulate opportunities and constraints to stakeholders through wireframes, storyboards and other UX storytelling methods
- Translate wireframe concepts into UI interactions, making recommendations to grow & evolve the system
- Communicate pros and cons of standard UI patterns based on strong understanding of human behaviours
- UX writing, and accommodating UX copy into your design
- Develop, present and iterate on possible interaction options to support build feasibility estimations
- Develop rapid functional prototypes and mockups
- Whip up UI documentation to articulate expected behaviour of UI interactions
- Finalise wireframes and prototypes into pixel-perfect mockups
- Pair with developers at relevant user story kick offs to ensure understanding of expected UI behaviour
- Pair with developers and Quality Assurance at relevant feature walkthroughs or testing to ensure design has been adequately built to specifications.
**To hit this job out of the park, you must have**:
- Minimum 3 years product design experience, working with cross functional digital squads to collaborate on digital product solutions
- Experience in working with Agile teams and processes
- Experience in both responsive web UI and native app interaction design
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to understand who core end users are, so you can champion empathising with their needs
- An understanding of user research and how to leverage common research methods to better inform and iterate on your designs
- Basic comprehension of how the platform and systems that support your UI designs works, not just how it looks
- Excellent storytelling and communication skills - ability to clearly link certain interaction design choices and decisions back to the core business problem or user need, at every stage of your process
- Solid collaboration & stakeholder management - ability to work with cross functional stakeholders and have an open mind to other perspectives
- Demonstrated consistency in design process and wise time management across projects. You stay accountable in completing your work on time.
- Intermediate to advanced skill in using Figma - the primary design tool at Kolmeo
- **As far as "nice-to-have's" (non-essentials)**:
- Formal education in a UX design, communication design or human psychology/HCD related field is preferred, but not mandatory
- Would be great if you have tools experience with:
- Miro
- Confluence & JIRA
- Other rapid prototyping and design tools such as sketch and Adobe XD.
