**JOB DESCRIPTION: SCHOOL RUN BUS DRIVER (CASUAL)**
JOB TYPE: Casual
PAY & CONDITIONS: Pay and conditions are set out in the Passenger Transportation Award 2020. Position commences at Casual Grade 3 but some charter work is classified as Grade 4 (depending on size of bus and distance of charter). Current award pay rate for Casual Grade 3 is $32.84-$59.11/hour depending on hours worked and applicable penalty rates. Superannuation Guarantee is paid on ordinary earnings and the current rate is 11% for 2023-2024 financial year. The SG rate increases to 11.5% for 2024-2025 financial year. Your Super is paid into your nominated Super Fund.
LOCATION: Depot Address Edwardstown SA 5039. Most jobs located in Adelaide and surrounding suburbs.
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Operations Manager
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Follow Driver Responsibilities & Code of Conduct at all times (provided during induction)
Safe and comfortable transportation of passengers
Deal with clients, passengers, general public and other employees professionally at all times
Build and maintain sound and appropriate relationships and communication with students and their families. Inspect and monitor general conditions of vehicle including vehicle checks prior to use, ensuring vehicle is sound for passenger transportation
Record and report any issues or concerns about a vehicle to Operations Manager in a timely fashion Monitor fuel levels in vehicle and refuel when required in between driving engagements but never during a driving engagement with passengers on board.
We will train you in the process and payment method for refueling the buses. Report any refueling issues or payment issues to the Operations Manager immediately.
Record and tally passenger movement data and submit to the office at the end of each school week
Abide by Work Health & Safety polices and procedures (provided during induction)
Record and report any accidents, incidents or near misses to Operations Manager via phone and on an incident report form, including the details of any damage that occurs to a vehicle while you are driving it, any issues with passengers or any other mechanical issue
Record and report any identified hazards to Operations Manager via incident/accident report form
Maintain a clean and tidy vehicle
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential Qualifications:
Current, valid and appropriate driver’s licence - LR minimum (MR or HR classification also desirable)
Current and valid Large Passenger Accreditation (Police Check, Medical, DHS Working With Children Clearance)
Qualifications desirable upon engagement or able to obtain after engagement:
Responding to Abuse & Neglect - Education & Care (RAN-EC) Induction Training
First Aid Qualification
**Experience**:
Experience driving passenger vehicles (in line with current licence classification) is highly desirable
Experience driving school run routes or school related bus transport is highly desirable
Proven experience in positive customer service is highly desirable

Consistently completing vehicle checks prior to departure and reporting issues to Operations Manager at all times
Monitoring fuel and fluids, refueling vehicles between engagements, reporting fuel or fluid issues to Operations Manager in timely fashion
Well presented with clean and tidy uniform
Excellent feedback from clients, students and families regarding professionalism and communication
Excellent feedback from co-workers regarding professionalism
Compliance with all WH&S policies and procedures
Reporting all accidents, incidents, near misses or identified hazards in a timely fashion to Operations Manager via Incident/Accident Report Form
Seeking advice whenever required Complete all student movement sheets accurately and submit each week (if applicable)

Expected hours: 15 - 30 per week

- This role operates over a split shift with a minimum of 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. Depending on client bookings there may be more hours available in between the school run. Little to no hours during school holidays. Please consider the nature of these work hours before you apply.
