We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Liaison Engineering Officer within our Maritime Australia sector, based in Osborne, South Australia.
The Liaison Engineering Officer is responsible for providing guidance to Engineering on manufacturability of designs, and for providing guidance to Production on any design changes that may be required to effect an installation or assembly.

**Your new role**:
As a member of the Detail Design Engineering functional team, the Liaison Engineering Officer's role is to:

- Provide engineering and production experience with respects to the primary structure fabrication, construction and/or outfitting of the Hunter Class Frigate.
- Act as an engineering technical liaison between Design Engineering & Production or Supply Chain.
- Support the Liaison Engineering Lead to represent the position and decisions of the Engineering leadership in Production forums.
- Provide professional engineering technical and operational support that is accurate, safe, on-time and on-budget to support project activities.
- Participate within the assigned Integrated Work Team (IWT), assisting the wider team to achieve positive safety, performance and quality outcomes.
- Ensure any in-production modifications are captured in company change management systems.

**About you**:
**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Sound experience in heavy steel fabrication/construction in defence or a related industry
- Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly exposure to spatial modelling software
- Demonstrated ability to navigate product lifecycle management (PLM) toolsets in order to raise, track and close out issues
- Strong stakeholder and communication engagement
- Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations

As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
