**The role**:
The BI Analyst role is responsible for delivering data-driven insights that empower business stakeholders to make informed decisions. This is achieved by developing a strong understanding of key business levers, fostering collaborative relationships, and leveraging advanced data visualisation techniques to create cutting-edge Power BI reports. The BI Analyst focuses on translating complex data into actionable insights, ensuring that the organisation maximises the value of its data assets while continuously striving for excellence in service delivery
**Key responsibilities**:
Gather, research, and analyse data to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs
Create written communication materials that effectively summarise findings and support recommendations
Direct quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test plans and managing the execution of testing (Unit and UAT)
Present data meaningfully and accurately so that user interpretation leads to smart business decisions Reporting and Forms Development
Analyse and document business requirements, design and develop complex reports, forms, and dashboards
Reverse engineer current reports
Resolve end user reporting problems through collaboration with IT and Business Organisations
Interact with report owners to establish/clarify their requirements and develop report specifications
Provide management and business users with requested reports, dashboards, and forms within established timeframes
Synthesise complex and diverse information by collecting and researching data, leveraging intuition and experience to complement insights. Develop efficient workflows and procedures to drive actionable outcomes.
Generate creative solutions; Use feedback to modify designs; Applies design principles; Demonstrates attention to detail
Essential Experience
At least 4 years BI Report Development experience and minimum 2 years developing enterprise-grade PowerBI reports
Understand and have expertise in the various technologies needed to implement PowerBI solutions
Deep understanding of data modelling principles and best practices with PowerBI
Proven experience collaborating with data engineers to define and communicate technical data transformation requirements effectively
Problem solving, analytical and communication abilities
Proven record of managing multiple competing priorities
Goal and action orientated with a proven ability to deliver within specified timeframes
Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to form positive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
Tertiary degree in the field of information technology, computer science, business or similar discipline
At least 2 years’ experience using PowerBI
3+ years’ experience as a BI analyst/developer
Data transformation using SQL
PowerBI Certifications
