In particular, Contestability provides assurance that investment proposals align with Defence strategy and Government direction, and will be delivered according to funding and schedule guidance. You will have highly developed critical thinking and reasoning skills and be able to analyse complex and technical documents, identify issues, draw accurate conclusions and develop responses supported by evidence.

You will possess strong writing, analytical and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build constructive professional relationships with senior stakeholders outside of your immediate work area. You’ll bring energy and integrity to the role and contribute to a culture that promotes a shared sense of purpose, whilst encouraging your team to make an effective contribution towards high impact outputs. Strong strategic thinking, resilience and planning skills are essential to roles at this level.

Contestability Division offers flexible working arrangements, including part time and job share opportunities.
