**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Cobram Primary School-Teachers aide position description

Teacher aides work in the classroom environment under the supervision of the classroom teacher. They support the teacher by assisting with behavior management as well as day-to-day operations or logístical needs of the classroom.
Some of the duties can include but are not limited to:

- Demonstrating, supervising and participating in activities which enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children in schools and pre-school centres,
- Preparing indoor and outdoor areas for learning and recreational activities,
- Assisting children with intellectual, physical and behavioral difficulties with their academic studies,
- Assisting children individually to learn social skills,
- Assisting with preparing teaching aides, copying and collating printed materials,
- Distributing and collecting lesson material, and
- Providing assistance to small group of Aboriginal, Torres strait islander and Maori students.

**SALARY**

$21,500 - $30,000 plus 11% Superannuation
- National Training Wage Award
- Fully Funded Qualification

**MORE INFORMATION**
- People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
- This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
