**ABOUT THE ROLE**

Barker College is currently seeking an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Temporary Teacher of Chinese at our Hornsby campus. This is to provide Long Service Leave cover for a current staff member.

This is a 1.0FTE employment load to start 29 January 2024 until 12 April 2024.

Knowledge of best practice in contemporary teaching and learning approaches to Languages and both confidence and competence in the use of ICT in classroom teaching and learning are essential.

Barker offers a dynamic program of French, Latin, Chinese, Japanese and Indigenous Language from Year 7 to Year 12 Extension.

**CANDIDATE EXPECTATIONS & REQUIREMENTS**

- Barker College is a child safe organisation and all statutory checks and references are required prior to confirmation of employment. A NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and a National Police Check will be required.
- Barker College is committed to a safe work environment and all staff members work within our WHS Policy & Procedures and other relevant documentation.
- Barker College will require all Teaching Staff to provide evidence of their Tertiary Qualifications and have an understanding of and experience in relevant NESA syllabus documents and teacher accreditation requirements.
- All teaching staff participate in the School’s extensive Pastoral Care and co-curricular programs. The ability to coach sports is highly desirable.
- Referees will only be contacted after initial interviews have been carried out. Your present Principal should be listed amongst confidential referees.
