Disability Support Worker

- Arete Care is a disability care provider seeking an experienced disability support worker you will assist clients in-home personal care & community Participation._
- We are seeking disability support workers for our clients in Werribee and Manor Lakes._

**Your Duties may Include (but not limited to)**
- Assisting the client one on one in-home
- Assisting the client to achieve personal goals
- Assisting client with domestic duties
- Assisting client with community access
- Assistance With Travel/Transport Arrangements

**About You**:

- We require support workers to be reliable, committed, and empathetic individuals to provide quality care as a Support Worker.
- A can-do attitude and genuine interest in helping other
- Experience in peg feed, manual handling
- Experience with ABI and Schizophrenia clients highly regarded.
- Experience in Mental Health, Borderline Personality disorder, Autism, ADHD, Epilepsy, Intellectual Disability
- Hoist Transfer knowledge is Preferred.
- Experience with Diabetes and Complex/Challenging Behaviours.
- Experience in various outdoor pursuits and activities
- A practical understanding of hygiene assistance and commitment of care
- Enjoyment in social activities, and one-on-one engagement
- Understanding of physical limitations and a safe, sensible approach
- Creativity, enthusiasm, sensitivity and emotional stability
- Strong communication and organisational skills - able to manage your time and support clients to do the same in an everyday capacity

- Knowledge of and awareness of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Understanding of Client Incident Management.
- Available to work on a flexible roster, which may include a combination of shifts including days, afternoons, sleepover and weekend shifts

**MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE**
- 100 Points of ID
- Clear National Police check issued within the last 12 months
- Working with Children’s Check
- Valid Australian drivers license and reliable transport
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- Minimum 6 months experience in Aged Care or Disability Care
- Certificate III Disability (or equivalent)
- Current First Aid Certificate incl. CPR
- Assist clients with medication module (highly regarded)
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- NDIS module completion certificate
- Experience in behaviours of concern, complex needs and mental health support
- Minimum 2 professional references required

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour
