**About the position**

The La Trobe Institute for Sustainable Agriculture and Food (LISAF) is a key strategic initiative that supports La Trobe University’s (La Trobe) world-class research and research training in agriculture, agri-food and medicinal agriculture.

Within LISAF, the ARC Medicinal Agriculture Hub within the Protected Cropping Domain aims to transform the production of high-quality plant-derived therapeutics (primarily cannabinoids) into an integrated, national industry that spans primary producers and manufacturers. By developing an export-ready, commercially competitive medicinal agriculture industry, the Hub has placed Australia at the forefront of agribiotech research, production and manufacturing.

The Molecular Biologist position will contribute to support the research of the ARC Med Ag Hub by performing scientific procedures, quality control analyses and providing advice on data interpretation, amongst other duties, following strict compliance procedures.

This position will require a Police Check and is required to work on campus 5 days per week.

**Skills and Experience**

To be considered for this position, you will have;
- Degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent with subsequent relevant experience to consolidate the theories and principles learned, or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise or to the development of broad knowledge in an administrative field, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and monitor workflows within own area of responsibility.
