The Forest and Fire Operations Officer Storm Recovery Works Supervisor supervises contractors, undertakes quality assessments, coordinates program delivery standards, undertakes reporting, and field marking to ensure protection of community values and assets associated with recovery works. This includes being responsible for coordinating delivery standards across the Storm Recovery program, working closely with other staff in the District and Region to maintain program standards of heavy plant operations and contractors.

This position has a focus on Storm Recovery rehabilitation works and construction but may involve being deployed locally to undertake emergency response and planned burning activities. These activities require a high level of fitness, as the work environment is often steep and remote from vehicles.

**Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications**
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of heavy plant operations in forested areas, with prior forest fuel and mechanical treatment experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of contractor supervision and delivery of project specifications.
- Experience and understanding in implementation of works programs, supervision of other staff and stakeholder interaction is desirable.

**Applicants must hold a current manual Drivers Licence (conditions A, I & V not acceptable for employment).**

**This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2024. The work location for this position is flexible within the Grampians Region with hybrid work arrangements available.**
