The role you could play

We are seeking a dedicated Thrift Shop Manager to oversee and lead the operations of a brand new Thrift Shop opening soon in Bendigo, CBD. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of inclusiveness and community spirit amongst the volunteer team, which will enhance the customer experience of the store and for the direct supervision of all volunteers and staff at the Shop.

Responsibilities include
- Maximise sales and revenue through processing of donations to the store by receiving, sorting, pricing, hanging of saleable goods and disposal of non-saleable goods
- Delegate responsibility for collecting items to volunteers or manage collections
- Administration of all levels of compliance and training of volunteers in the workplace
- Work alongside the Corps Officers to set and achieve annual budgets and to identify additional ways to promote store income growth
- Maintain all site security standards including activation of alarm systems, securing store at opening/closing and training staff

This is a permanent full-time position, 38 hours per week based in Bendigo, VIC. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Level 6 Award.
- Two plus years of demonstrated and relevant retail industry experience
- Experience in retail management desirable
- Demonstrated skills and experience in cash handling, financial management and team leadership
- Prior experience in a charitable recycling retail operation desirable
- Completed First Aid (PFA) training
- Current Drivers Licence
- Physical ability to safely sit, stand, walk regularly and for long periods of time
- Physical ability to push, pull, lift, carry items up to 10 kilos in weight
- Physical ability to climb ladders
