**The Role**:
Our client is now seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join their team full time.

Reporting to the Directors, you must have a minimum of two years’ experience exclusively in Family Law to support the Senior Family Lawyers.

This is a fast-paced team who work in a cohesive environment ensuring successful outcomes for their clients. Juggling a range of tasks and conflicting priorities are skills that will see your success. Some of the key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide comprehensive support to the team of Senior Family Lawyers
- Collaborate with lawyers and colleagues to prepare cases for trial, including organizing documents and evidence, preparing exhibits, and coordinating with witnesses and experts
- Preparing Briefs and drafting correspondence
- Maintain accurate and organized case files, calendars, diary management and billing records
- Providing second to none client service and support
- Lodging and filing court documents, coordinating settlements, conducting searches
- Billings and calendar management
- Title Searches, Business Searches
- Following up information to keep tasks on track while adhering to deadlines
- General office support when required

**About You**:
Just as important as your technical skills are, your soft skills and willingness to be part of a successful firm and team are also equally valuable. You will also:

- Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Maintain complete electronic files. Ideally, knowledge of LEAP software.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, other parties, and other staff members. Attending to new client enquires with empathy and professionalism and a knowledge of what information to obtain from them over the phone.
- Broad understanding of Family Law processes relating to divorce, property matters, parenting matters and domestic violence. Ideally, but not necessarily, an understanding about financial agreements and child support processes.
- An ability to create basic documents required for the Federal Circuit and Family Court proceedings, such as Application for Consent Orders, subpoenas, simple affidavits, Application for divorce, Costs Notices.
- Knowledge of how to use the Commonwealth Courts Portal, including filing documents, issuing subpoenas, downloading documents.
- Compiling Counsel briefs including preparing Index and collating documents
- Preparing List of disclosure documents and collating documents
- Preparing basic letters to clients and other parties.
