**About the role**

We have an opportunity for a Carer Lead to join our Out of Home Care service on a permanent full-time basis.

This role will involve leading Carer Support for volunteer and employee carers, providing specialised consultation, guidance, leading development of learning and development and support plans and provide direct practical short-term support to Carers.

It will also lead the development of communications, strategies, procedures, and resources aimed at improving Carer competencies, skills and confidence when providing care to children and young people.

**About you**

You’ll share our values, be empathic and looking for a role where you can make a powerful difference in the care that young people receive. With a proactive mindset you’ll be collaborative with exceptional eye for detail. Your key experience will include:

- Bachelor of relevant Human Services qualification and/or sector experience
- Qualifications in trauma informed practice, risk management and behaviour intervention and management would be highly desirable
- Demonstrated experience working in a therapeutic role with foster Carers and in OOHC.
- Demonstrated understanding of safeguarding, child safety legislations, Carer competencies and/or ability to develop knowledge
- Experience developing plans that consider dimensions of need, competency requirements, safety, environment and culture and identity.
- Excellent understanding of best practice working when engaging with diverse client groups including members of the LGBQTIA+ community, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander peoples and CALD identified.
- Demonstrated understanding of the barriers faced by Carers, children and families engaged with the Out of Home Care sector.
- Able to work with diverse stakeholder groups and lead engagements
- COVID and Influenza vaccinations are preferred but not required
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
