**ACTOR TRAINERS WANTED - EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FROM TRAINED ACTORS**
Perform Australia is an award-winning drama school and registered training organisation (RTO 40859) delivering high quality actor education and nationally recognised qualifications to Advanced Diploma level.
We're seeking experienced actors who are able to deliver:
- Our famous 'Acting 101' course - intro to acting for beginners (adults)
- Professional actor training - across screen and stage, in our 10915NAT Certificate IV in Acting.
We're looking for trainers who can begin in Term 4.
There is some day and some evening work available - and we're interviewing now.
Our classes run weekly at set times. For consistency in the education of our students, you need to make a regular weekly commitment. If rehearsal or performance commitments will take you away from a regular weekly commitment to teaching for long periods of time, this will exclude you from taking on a role with us during that particular term.
**Essential - All applicants must**:
- Hold a minimum Advanced Diploma qualification in acting - Bachelor preferred
- Have recent professional performance credits across stage and/or screen and be currently connected with industry
- Hold a Blue Card (working with vulnerable people check)
- Be able to create a good rapport with adult students of any age (average student age is mostly between 17-25, but we’ll often have older students).
**Highly regarded**:
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and an understanding of the VET sector
- Competency using camera equipment, for screen classes
- Owning your own camera equipment that you can bring along to shoot simple scenes.
More than that, we're looking people who:
- Are artists at heart
- Know how to teach (as opposed to how to act or direct)
- Wholeheartedly support our company values of Passion, Industry, Community, Generosity, and Story
- Appreciate the challenges that young people face, particularly in the area of mental health and social stresses
- Are willing to support our ethos of building students up, by working with their strengths, rather than tearing them down to “rebuild” them
- Are willing to work hard to provide the highest quality education, even if you are only teaching for us a few hours a week.
To express your interest in a teaching role, reply with your CV and a letter to Ms Elizabeth Scott highlighting your area of expertise as an acting teacher.
**Job Type**: Contract
Pay: $50.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Afternoon shift
- Evening shift
Work Location: In person
