**About Us**
Aboriginal Community Housing Limited, a National Tier 1 Aboriginal Community Housing organisation that provides culturally appropriate property and tenancy management services across Australia.
**The Role**
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our dedicated housing services team where you will be responsible for delivering high quality tenancy and property management for our ACHL portfolio of properties in the region. Your talent for building relationships and working in partnership with clients, including your existing networks with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, people, agencies, and partner organisations in SA will ensure you excel in this role. This is a part-time role working hours of 22.5 hours per week.
You will:
- Undertake tenancy & property management, working alongside tenant’s support providers.
- Portfolio located across the metro and regional SA
- Managing arrears, rent reviews and day to day issues.
- Routine Inspections,
- Allocating properties and assessing applicants against program eligibility
- Conduct tenancy exits
- Work closely with government departments, clients, support agencies, and relevant CHL departments.
**About You**
You will demonstrate relevant experience providing client focused tenancy management services, including the ability to work with a diverse range of clients. In addition, you will have a good working knowledge and understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural issues in SA, including their social, political, and historical context.
**Essential Criteria**:
This is an Identified position. ACHL considers that being an Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander is a genuine occupational requirement for this position under s. 65 of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA).
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the people who are in housing crisis and thorough understanding of local barriers and difficulties.
- The ability to work independently as part of a wider team.
- High level time management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel and a current drivers licence.
- A commitment to the right of all people to affordable and sustainable housing.
Please note that satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
