- We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to join our team of talented individuals based at our Adamstown laboratory. Working directly with 10 laboratory staff and reporting to the Area Manager. This role is a fantastic mix of supervising staff and hands on laboratory work.**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Supervising a laboratory with a technical matrix of 10 staff consisting of, Laboratory Aides, Technical & Scientific staff in a multi-disciplinary setting (Biochemistry, Haematology/Coagulation & Semen motility)
- Prioritising work
- flow to meet client’s requirements
- Ensuring results are released within agreed turnaround times
- Liaising with senior staff and Pathologists regarding unusual and abnormal results
- Overseeing the management of laboratory equipment to ensure equipment is maintained in optimal condition and working order, scheduled routine maintenance is performed, and any unscheduled maintenance is performed as required
- Reviewing and updating all laboratory documentation as required

**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- Tertiary Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
- Must hold AIMS accreditation
- At least 3 years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to build meaningful partnerships
- Experience in working under tight deadlines to meet day to day targets, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks within set timeline
- Results orientated and a proactive and effective problem solver
- Proven skills in defining, prioritising, and organising competing tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to always demonstrate the highest levels of confidentiality and integrity

**Vaccination Requirements**
- Vaccine preventable disease evidence such as Hepatitis B is a requirement of this role
- Other vaccinations based on location may be required / setting
