**The Position**:
This positions is a Youth Alcohol and Drugs Counsellor and that provides a family inclusive therapeutic treatment. The positions objectives are:
Reduce young people’s problematic alcohol and other drug use and associated harms.

Improve family engagement in young peoples’ treatment of alcohol problems.

Improve health and well-being outcomes for young people with substance use issues and their families by improving treatment engagement, retention and family functioning.

Improve the management of relapse through improved support for young people.

Work within a harm minimisation frame work.

Respond appropriately to co-morbidity of substance problems and mental health problems.

**To Be Successful**:
Clinical experience and an understanding of theory that underpins drug and alcohol treatment

Understanding of the stages of change

In depth knowledge of addiction

Family Work

Counselling skills which include the ability to use CBT

**Qualifications**:
Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Science, Counselling and specifically a minimum of a Cert IV in AOD or Post Graduate Certificate in AOD, including Dual Diagnosis competencies or a minimum 2 years in the AOD sector.

**The important stuff**:
Salary starts at $96,962 plus super plus salary packaging (Level 6 SCHCADS) Full time equivalent

**Office location**: Frankston

Part time 3 days per week
