Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Communications Advisor to join the team, reporting to the Media & Communications Manager

**About the Opportunity**:
This is an exciting and rare opportunity for a qualified and experienced communications professional to join our team. The role of Communications Advisor is focused on contributing to the positioning of Racing Victoria and Victorian Thoroughbred Racing by supporting the implementation of the corporate communication plan, proactively addressing issues and building awareness and engagement.

This role will be required to undertake occasional weekend work and flexible hours as part of Communications Team roster.

**About you**:
You will thrive in a customer centric, fast paced and hands on team environment. Some of the skills and experience you will have include:

- Previous experience in providing support towards implementation of a communications and corporate affairs strategies
- Development and implementation of communications materials including media releases, social media content, briefing materials & promotional copy
- Ability to provide assistance with daily media enquiries through the provision of information that supports coverage and promotion of the sport
- Identifying issues, breaking news and trends and monitor daily media with the support of the Social Media & Content Coordinator
- Providing support into wider communications, PR and marketing activities.
