Hospitality Trainer and Assessor required in CIET-Melbourne Campus

Canberra Institute of Education and Technology is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID: 45592) located in Canberra and Melbourne.

CIET is a national training provider that delivers a variety of quality, tailored training solutions to businesses across Australia.

Our clients and staff requirements are growing quickly and therefore we are looking for professional, qualified and experienced Trainers and Assessors to service our clients in the ACT.

We are seeking highly motivated Trainers and Assessors to deliver and assess in the following areas in a workplace based environment and work very closely with one of our key national course:

- SIT50416 Diploma of Hospitality Management
- SIT30816 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
- SIT40516 Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery

Key Responsibilities:
**Curriculum Development**:
Design and develop comprehensive training programs covering various aspects of cookery, including basic cooking skills, advanced culinary techniques, kitchen management, and hygiene.

Stay updated with industry trends, new cooking methods, and emerging technologies to incorporate relevant content into the curriculum.

**Instruction and Demonstration**:
Conduct hands-on cooking classes, workshops, and demonstrations for individuals or groups.

Provide clear and detailed instructions on cooking techniques, recipe execution, and presentation.

**Skill Assessment**:
Evaluate the cooking skills of participants through practical assessments, tastings, and theoretical exams.

Provide constructive feedback to help individuals improve their culinary abilities.

**Kitchen Safety and Hygiene**:
Emphasize and enforce proper kitchen safety protocols and hygiene practices.

Instruct on the correct use of kitchen equipment, handling of ingredients, and maintenance of a clean and organized workspace.

**Adaptability**:
Tailor training programs to meet the diverse needs and skill levels of participants.

Modify teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.

**Industry Knowledge**:
Stay informed about the latest culinary trends, ingredients, and cooking techniques.

Share insights into industry best practices, job market trends, and career development opportunities.

**Essential Criteria for the role**:

- Must have TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher or willing to obtain within next 3 months.
- The qualification or equivalent qualification or higher, that they are intending to deliver
- A minimum of 2 to 5 years' experience in the relevant industry with demonstrated industry currency
- Evidence of current knowledge and skills in Vocational Education and Training (VET)

**Job Types**: Temporary, Casual, Part-time
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Melbourne, VIC 3000 (preferred)

Work Location: In person
