In Victoria, The Flying Doctor has an extensive patient transport operation by air and road, complemented by a range of mobile and fixed primary health services, such as dental, optical, mental health, GP clinics, speech therapy and a growing number of digital health technologies.

RFDS Victoria’s Marketing and Fundraising Team is responsible for communicating the RFDS Victoria story to a range of audiences and for funding the ambition of the organisation, enabling us to deliver services to patients and clients. We work to ensure we maintain the financial stability and brand integrity of the organisation.

**The role**

This Content Advisor position provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced writer and content creator to capture the stories of RFDS Victoria and communicate the true impact of our services and staff.

This highly valued, hands on role involves the co-ordination, writing and production of a wide variety of materials including donor newsletter, subscriber publications, influencer outreach, digital and corporate communications.

Working closely with our health team, you will be responsible for collecting stories, and writing them in different formats to meet the communication needs of the organisation.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Delivering on the objectives of the newly created RFDS Victoria Content Strategy, with a view to developing and enhancing it over time
- Connecting and building relationships with frontline service delivery staff, patients and internal teams to drive a multi-channel storytelling and content strategy
- Developing written and multimedia materials and resources for distribution through printed and online channels
- Creating and maintaining a content schedule
- Identifying ways to innovatively repurpose content for use in various forms; such as, government engagement and community engagement
- Producing corporate and donor communications, briefing notes, editorial and speech writing support
- Supporting video creation in conjunction with an external professional film team, and managing an external digital agency for the creation of social media content
- Actively engaging and consulting with our fundraising team to generate content that contributes to a seamless integrated supporter journey

**Qualifications and experience required**:

- Tertiary qualification or appropriate qualification (Bachelor Degree in Communications, Journalism or Professional Writing).
- Relevant experience working in a varied communications, journalism or content creation role.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with experience in producing high-quality communication materials such as newsletters, e-direct mail, web content, social media content, briefing notes, correspondence and presentations.
- Experience in creating long-form storytelling content that can be adapted for other uses.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and establish professional strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation and delivery of digital communications including developing content, managing and maintaining websites, social media platforms and e-newsletter
