We are seeking a values-driven Front of House Worker to be a part of a collaborative community support team at Flagstaff and The Open Door.

The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Front of House Worker to be a part of a collaborative community support team at Flagstaff and The Open Door that provides accommodation & community support to men experiencing homelessness who have high complex needs. The Community Support Team operates over a 24-hour roster, seven days a week and welcomes clients into the service by demonstrating genuine acceptance, compassion and care.

You will successfully
- Develop and maintain the front desk function as a welcoming and responsive contact point for staff, residents and professionals contacting the service by phone or visiting the facility
- Assist residents with their immediate care needs
- Receive and direct calls to relevant staff
- Collaborate with the Leadership & Community Support Team, support visiting services to provide services to the residents
- Provide organisational support to The Open Door Leadership Team to enable them to effectively and efficiently provide a client centred trauma informed Model of Care to residents experiencing homelessness
- Collaborate with the Community Engagement Team, develop promotional material relating to the annual activities calendar
- Assist the Community Engagement Team to develop survey templates and feedback forms in relation to Client Participation and Capacity Building activities
- Support the Team Staff meeting and Working Group with meeting documentation as required by The Residential Services Program Manager.
- Assist the Site Administrator, while on Leave & as required with the following tasks:

- Process daily accounts payable transactions
- Coordinate and account for petty cash, service fees and Imprest cards
- Count, record and receipt all monies as required and banked

This is a permanent full time position based in North Melbourne. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SCHADS Level 5 Award.

You will have
- Qualification in Social Work/Community Welfare (or equivalent) & demonstrated equivalent relevant experience, knowledge and skills
- Advanced written and oral communication skills
- Experience in working in the field of homelessness
- Solve problems quickly and creatively, to be resourceful and able to cope with stressful situations
- Demonstrate a willingness to engage in professional development through supervision and training
- A current VIC Drivers Licence
- Valid VIC Employee Working with Children Check
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
