We are currently seeking a temporary part-time (26hrs per week) staff member to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine.

The role
- Reporting to the OHS Coordinator, we are seeking an OHS Advisor who can bring their skills and experience for:

- Promoting a positive and proactive approach to workplace health and safety;
- Establishing trusted relationships and raising awareness of health and safety as an organisational priority;
- Providing high quality, expert advice based upon legislative compliance and best practice;
- Facilitating and supporting stakeholders to work within the Council’s Safety Management Systems; and
- Delivering programs and initiatives as identified in the organisation’s health and safety strategy.

To be considered you will have:
- Local government experience is desirable;
- Three (3) plus years of experience in an OHS advisory role with appropriate supporting qualifications;
- Demonstrated passion for OHS with the ability to promote a proactive and positive safety culture;
- Demonstrated ability to provide practical, fit for purpose safety solutions, whilst ensuring that legislative and business requirements are not compromised;
- Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing risk assessments, designing safe systems of work and mentoring stakeholders;
- High attention to detail with the ability to develop and implement OHS policy and procedure documentation.
