**Genetic Counsellor - Level 1 - GOLD Service**

**About the role**:
Staff are involved in providing clinical consultations at sites across the state and lead and/or participate in numerous domestic and international research projects.

The work is varied and interesting with a focus on families with intellectual delay. Maintaining positive relationships with families involved with the service is a hallmark of the success of the GoLD service.

**Where you’ll be working**:

- The GoLD service (incorporating the previously existing NSW Fragile X service) was established in 2000. This initiative was state funded with the purpose of advancing research into inherited intellectual disability and providing clinical genetic services to affected families.
- You will become part of an exceptional team where each member brings unique strengths and experiences. The service provides specialist clinical services within NSW for families with inherited intellectual disability and conducts research into causes of inherited intellectual disability

**About you**:

- You must have experience working with individuals and families.
- You will be an excellent communicator who is experienced working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Previous relevant research experience would be highly regarded.
- You will be a team player with the ability to work both collaboratively with others and independently when necessary.
- You will be required to travel interstate for clinics and home visits.
