Thomas Hassall Anglican College is a vibrant P-12 independent College located with close
access to the M5 and M7 in the growing South West of Sydney. We are committed to

The College is seeking to employ a motivated maintenance team member with a passion for
maintaining the physical environment of our College. The successful applicant will be a
member of a Bible based Christian Church and ready to work full-time within a professional
and cohesive team. The role will primarily be in maintenance of the College buildings across
the 24 acres and the setup of equipment for activities around the College. The Maintenance
Support Staff is part of the wider grounds maintenance team and there will be times were
grounds work will also be required.

**Key Selection Criteria**
The successful applicant for the above position must be able to provide evidence to
support the following criteria:

- Strong personal Christian faith and be a regular and practising member of a Bible
- based Christian Church
- Experience in the use and maintenance of power tools
- Ability to work effectively both within a team and independently
- Passion for an outdoor working environment with high attention to detail
- A commitment to safety and safe work practices in the workplace
- Good organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks,

meet prescribed deadlines and concurrently manage a number of competing
responsibilities

**Qualifications**
- A full driver’s license.
- A valid Working with Children Check clearance
- Highly Desirable Criteria: _
- Maintenance experience
- Trade qualification is desirable but not essential
- Experience in a school environment desirable but not essential
- hold an HR or MR licence, and have experience driving buses is desirable but not

essential

**Applications should include**:
- Completion of Employment Application form available on the College website - This

One of these needs to be from a Christian Minister.
- Resume outlining teaching, leadership and other experience relevant to the position
- A statement of educational philosophy
- Written response addressing the Key Selection Criteria in a maximum of 2-3 pages
- Valid NSW Working with Children details (WWCC)

**Maintenance Support Staff**

**Primary Purpose**:
To provide day to day services to ensure the provision of safe and functional facilities by
carrying out maintenance, security and other operational programs.

**Accountable to**:
The Principal through the Maintenance Supervisor

**Directly reports to**:
Maintenance Supervisor

**Relates to**:
1. All college staff

**Major Responsibilities**
The Maintenance Support Staff are responsible to the Principal through the Maintenance
Supervisor in the following areas:
which require the use of some discretion as a general hand
- Work under close supervision, either individually or as a member of a team as a general

hand
- A General Hand may be required to perform the following indicative duties:

- general building equipment maintenance and operation not requiring the- move equipment and furniture
- disarm and unlock the college as required
- handle, store and distribute goods and materials, including stock
- contribute to the maintenance of buildings, grounds and property to an agreed
- standard- general labouring for grounds maintenance tasks which may include foliage control
- of the gardens and sporting fields when required- Perform any duties as is required by the Principal or his nominees from time to time

**The Maintenance Support Staff is expected to be present at**:

- all mandatory College events,
- all mandatory professional development activities
- Maintenance team meetings
