**About the opportunity**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Practitioner to provide expert guidance to the youth residential services program and child and family services programs across Uniting’s southern metropolitan division.

The Principal Practitioner role is a key strategic position that aims to embed a culture of practice excellence. You will work closely with frontline staff and leaders to strengthen practice through a trauma-informed lens, integrating theory and research into case advice and guidance. The role will work closely with the Group Manager South & Youth Residential Services and the Practice Leadership Unit, providing opportunities for peer support, development, and reflection.

**About you**:
You ideally possess postgraduate qualifications in psychology or social work with significant experience working with either children, young people, or families who have histories of complex trauma and social disadvantage, often across generations. You are passionate about collaborating with frontline staff and leaders around complex cases, facilitating opportunities to learn and reflect to create the best possible outcomes for clients.

You have an exceptional understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic care, and an ability to explain that understanding to others. You understand relationships are central to the work we do and you are not afraid to be imaginative when considering paths to recovery.
