**Position Information**:
Bankstown Public School is a large multicultural school of 780 students and is located within the CBD of Bankstown. 96% of students are from non-English speaking backgrounds and 10 are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. There are currently 47 language backgrounds with 35% Arabic, 27% Vietnamese and 7% students speaking Urdu. The staff at Bankstown Public School are a highly committed and diverse group of experienced, early career and temporary teachers. There are 32 class teachers with a newly established Support Unit consisting of an IO, IM and 2 Au/IO clasess.

The Executive team consists of a Principal, 2 Deputy Principals, 2 Assistant Principals (Curriculum & Instruction) and 4 Assistant Principals. The school has a Community Hub coordinator who works with the school community to build parent capacity to support student learning. We have very strong student welfare programs and the school supports a Playtime program for preschool aged students and their parents and continues to foster and build community participation and support.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary;
Demonstrated ability to develop self and others, leading to whole school improvement in literacy and numeracy using expertise in curriculum, data and research to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

Exceptional interpersonal skills with evidence of collaborative leadership to build strong and respectful relationships across the whole school community.

Proven ability to support the implementation of strategies that promote inclusion to maximise the learning and wellbeing outcomes of all students, including EALD learners.

Demonstrated capacity to cultivate a positive learning culture underpinned by continuous improvement and feedback to enhance learning outcomes for teachers and students.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
