In this full-time, 12-month traineeship, you will undertake structured learning and on-the-job training within our AOD teams. The focus will be on creating relationships within the service system network in our region and providing the opportunity to work individually and collaboratively with the AOD teams on a variety of tasks to achieve program outcomes.

During the traineeship, Uniting will work with you to ensure that you are both capable and confident to provide support to clients and secondary consults to other alcohol referral services, other related health and social services and families and other support persons. The role works under the support and direction of a dedicated mentor.

As a member of the team, you will:

- Offer individual support to clients, initially under direct supervision from the clinical team
- Maintain case notes, client reports and accompanying documents as required under supervision by the clinical coordinator or person delegated to that role
- Assist in the development of educational and promotional resources

- Knowledge and understanding of legislation and policies relevant to the health and community services sector
- A passion for providing and delivering a high level of customer service
- The ability to problem solve and use initiative and display sound judgement
- Strong relationship building capabilities, both internally and externally to the organisation
- Demonstrated analytical, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong computer skills and the ability to learn to use new systems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
