**Your role with us**:
As our 2D Game Animator, you will have the exciting opportunity to contribute to the creation of visually engaging and immersive slot games that captivate players and keep them entertained. You will work closely with the art and animation teams, and using the animation software Spine2D you will help bring to life the game concepts through your artistic skills, attention to detail, and passion for creating exceptional gaming content. Reporting directly to the Art Director, you will also collaborate with the wider team of Illustrators, Animators, Mathematicians and Developers to conceptualize and create basic animations. This could include animating symbols and simple game UI components, character rigging and assembling files.

**What you will do**:

- **Asset Preparation**: Receive and prepare 2D art assets from the illustration team for animation, ensuring they are optimised for use in Spine, our in-house animation software.
- **Animation Creation**: Animate characters, symbols, backgrounds, and UI elements, adhering to specific time parameters to ensure consistent and responsive gameplay.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with Illustrators, Developers and the Art Director to ensure that animations align with the game's artistic vision and technical requirements. This role is highly collaborative and will require excellent communication skills.
- **Technical Implementation**: Understand technical limitations when submitting animations and assets to the Developers, ensuring they will function as intended in our in-house game engine.
- **Iteration and Feedback**: Incorporate feedback from the Art Director, and Senior Technical Artist, making adjustments to animations as needed.
- **Quality Assurance**: Ensure all animations meet the highest quality standards and are delivered within project timelines.
- **Innovation**: Contribute to the development of new animation techniques and processes, staying current with industry trends and advancements.

**What you will bring**:

- **Experience**: 3+ years of professional experience in 2D animation within a game studio environment.
- **Animation Skills**: Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and motion, with a portfolio showcasing your ability to create fluid and engaging animations.
- **Software Proficiency**: Proficiency in Spine is a huge plus, but as a relatively niche piece of animation software, we can help to teach and train on the job.
- **Pipeline Experience**: Proven experience ideally working within a game development pipeline, including the preparation, optimization, and implementation of animations.
- **Technical Understanding**: Knowledge of game engines and the technical requirements for integrating animations into games would be a huge plus as well.
- **Adaptability**: Ability to work across different styles and genres, adapting to the unique needs of each project.

**Bonus points if you also have**:

- Mobile game experience and familiarity are advantageous
- Previous studio experience is a huge plus
- Proficient with Google Suite (Drive, Spreadsheets, Docs), Slack & Jira
