**Role Overview**:
The Production Planner will be responsible for establishing the production plans in both short and long term to ensure all customer orders are executed efficiently and on time. A key success of the role is to align procurement activity to inventory levels to match peaks and troughs in demand. The result will be an operation that meets 100% DIFOT whilst focusing on reducing Primary working capital (PWC) and minimising obsolete stock.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with purchasing officers and customer service team to use forecast data to develop and maintain an efficient, achievable production plan.
- Monitor and maintain leadtime report and communicate constraints to production supervisor.
- Confirm dispatch dates.
- Analyse resource requirements (manpower, tools, equipment, parts)
- Monitor employee resource capacity and employee availability
- Maintain material and manufactured products inventory levels to meet production and customer requirements
- Build, lead, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Strive to improve communication relationships between Sales, Procurement and Operations
- Use business intelligence and sales forecasts to generate projected material demands and prime the supply pipeline to support realisation of customer orders.
- Communicate forecasted demand into the Procurement team to ensure orders are placed with enough lead time for supply
- Run the Work order MRP to generate demand and manage the Master production and dispatch schedule for all the value stream activities
- Create and backflush all work orders daily
- Where a production delay occurs, develop an action plan with the Supervisor and advise Customer service of any impacts to minimise impacts to the customer
- Closely coordinate and communicate customer requirement changes to Procurement that may affect supply so that optimum supply chain costs are maintained
- Responsible for ensuring we have the right products, at the right place, and at the right time to meet our customers’ needs
- Actively participate and support MDI activities and KPI’s.

**Vocational Requirements**:

- Minimum Requirement- Certificate / Diploma in Production Planning, Supply Chain & Logistics
- Min 3+ yrs in a direct Production Planning role
- Demonstrated analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate a knowledge of Supply Chain, S&OP and the demand planning principles
- Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts;
- Demonstrable experience in working with MRP interpreting demand
- Demonstrable experience developing production schedules based on inputs from S&OP processes
- Solid understanding of Bill of Materials
- Advanced skills in excel advanced functions such as Vlookups, Pivot tables etc
- Ability to work as part of a team, with or without constant supervision

Preferred- Master’s in supply chain or Production / Demand Planning
- Caliach experience
- Project Management experience
- Experience managing internal communications and working across different departments
