**Project Officer, Grade 7/8, Wollongong**

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced project management professional to join a small and energetic team delivering replacement operational vehicles, vessels and trailers for the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) under the Fleet Replacement Program (FRP).
- Work in volunteer-based agency supporting communities of NSW
- Full time temporary position to 30 June 2024 with the possibility of extension or ongoing.
- Wollongong location with flexible work available

**About the opportunity**

NSW SES is undertaking a major program of fleet asset replacement, including vehicles, vessels and trailers, over the next six years and beyond.

The Project Officer - Delivery is a senior member of the Fleet Replacement Program (FRP) team, responsible to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of the FRP, including:

- Liaising with and management of contracted suppliers to ensure timely completion of new fleet assets;
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and contracted suppliers to arrange delivery of new assets and return of retired fleet assets;
- Compile and produce reports, returns and status updates as required;
- Ensure timely supply of specialist equipment to match build and delivery of new vehicles, vessels and trailers; and
- Lead and manage part of the FRP Team responsible for managing delivery of new and replacement fleet assets.

The Project Officer - Delivery reports directly to the Manager, Fleet Replacement Program.

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) is an emergency and rescue service made up almost entirely of volunteers and supported by a small staff contingent. NSW SES is a key influencer of other emergency service agencies and works closely with these partners to modernise and grow volunteering to save lives and protect communities

While major responsibilities are for flood, storm operations and tsunamis, the NSW SES also provides the majority of general rescue effort in the rural parts of the state. This includes road accident rescue, vertical rescue, bush search and rescue, evidence searches (both metropolitan and rural), other forms of specialist rescue that may be required due to local threats, Urban Search and Rescue and Community First Response.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will:

- be a self-starter with good time management skills and be a no-fuss problem solver;
- have significant experience leading and delivering projects;
- be an experienced and effective team leader who can motivate and develop your team members;
- have high level written and verbal communications skills;
- be proficient in building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders; and
- hold relevant qualifications in project management and/or equivalent professional experience.
