We are seeking an Economist with a background in Agribusiness (not mandatory) to work for a QLD Government department. This role is Full-Time with an opportunity for immediate start and offers flexibility to work from Rockhampton or Charters Towers facility.
The position is on contract until 30thJune, 2023 with a possibility to extend.

**About the role**
Working from within Rural Economic Development, Central or North Region, you will work on a range of innovative projects focusing on improved profitability and sustainability for agriculture. As an Agricultural Economist you will be required to:

- Offer economic support to department staff and projects through the delivery of economic evaluation and extension services targeting improved profitability and sustainability.
- Prepare case study reports and other communication material.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders.
- Take on projects and activities as required and self-organise workflow priorities and projects to ensure outcomes are met.
- Undertake overnight travel to regional areas as required.

**About You**:

- Must have a bachelor’s degree in economics, business, agribusiness or commerce.
- Experience in the agricultural sector and primary producers desirable but not mandatory.
- Should possess a valid Australian driver’s license.
