**Our Client**
With over 100 years of experience, our client is a global leader in the manufacture of sub-systems for rail and commercial vehicles. Their state-of-the-art facility housed close to Sydney (Western Suburbs) provides original and aftermarket braking, doors, HVAC, and related products to various heavy industries across Australia.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on technical, quality, cost and related requirements
- Implement cost reduction strategies and achieve the agreed cost-down targets by working closely with suppliers
- Maintain strong relationships with selected supply partners and monitor performance on an ongoing basis
- Analyse market trends, supplier and product performance to develop and implement strategies that optimize the supply base
- Support purchasing projects by working collaboratively with stakeholders to implement effective purchasing strategies for business improvements

**Skills and Requirements**
- Degree, diploma, certificate, trade or similar in engineering, business, procurement, purchasing or related
- Demonstrated experience working in a similar role in procurement/purchasing/supply-chain
- Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to interface and manage relationships with suppliers
- Expertise in Power BI and SAP (or other ERPs) would be beneficial
- Experience within manufacturing, rail, automotive, defence, mining, oil & gas, aerospace and/or other related heavy industries would be highly valued
