We are looking for a **Specialist, Land Access and Cultural heritage **to join the Communities and Social Performance team facilitating cultural heritage and land access requirements for Rio Tinto Exploration’s Western Australian Projects.

This role is a great opportunity for a cultural heritage and communities professional to work within a small team ensuring project and community objectives are met, resolving associated issues and making critical decisions in line with Rio Tinto Policy, procedures and legal requirements, inclusive of project management and logistics components, in a socially responsible manner.

Reporting to the Senior Advisor CSP and working in a collaborative community within the CSP team, you will:

- Work on RTX and Joint Venture tenure ensuring compliance with multiple Land Access agreements and commercially sensitive JV arrangements
- Maintaining Cultural heritage management systems, compliance, permitting and approvals processes, survey GIS and report databases
- Plan and schedule relevant technical and logístical inputs to implement the heritage survey schedules and work programmes, including coordination of all components and personnel involved in surveys
- Engage and influence employee and contractor teams working on site in relation to cultural heritage values, risks and controls
- Deliver information on cultural heritage, land access and engagement to relevant Rio Tinto teams and the wider community as required
- Engage and collaborate with Aboriginal Corporations and their heritage service providers; consulting and contracting partners; multiple teams and other relevant personnel throughout the Rio Tinto organisation to enable effective delivery of the access work

**What you’ll bring**
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Experience in scheduling demanding remote field work programs for teams with multiple risk exposure categories and moving parts
- Experience in and a culturally sensitive approach to working with Indigenous communities
- Relevant qualifications in Anthropology, Archaeology, Environmental Science, Community Relations or equivalent industry experience
- Previous experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and ability to work collaboratively across a geographically dispersed team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - ability to build networks with a wide range of people, ability to positively influence and build consensus
- Previous experience in mining or related industry along with demonstrated involvement in cultural heritage work in Western Australia
- Exceptional organisation, logístical coordination and problem-solving capabilities
- Knowledge of cultural heritage management practices as well as State and Federal heritage legislation requirements
