- **Biomedical Technical Officer Gr 3 Year 4**

An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced Biomedical Technical Officer to join our VRSS Outreach Team.

The VRSS is the Victorian state wide service for the provision of home ventilation services and falls under the Department of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine (DRSM). This is a busy clinical units encompassing inpatient, outpatient, community and research activities.

The VRSS Biomedical Technical Officer will:

- Perform routine and breakdown servicing of ventilaotrs and associated equipment, including preventative maintenance, repair, performance verification and safety testing in accordance with Australian Standards.
- Collaborate with associate Technical Officers (TO 4) and VRSS Outreach Nursing staff with regard to scheduling work.
- Provide technical advice and clinial support for VRSS equipment and services.
- Deliver medical equipment to VRSS and Austin Health clients as required.

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:

- Adaptability, resourcefulness and possess the ability to learn how to diagnose and troubleshoot technical elctronic issues to a high level of complexity.
- Eligibility for membership of IEAust as an engineering associate. (Stage 1 level, at Member Grade (2 year diploma and at least 3 years experience)).
- A minimum of 5 years experience servicing medical equipment, at least 2 of them with ventilators.
- Previous experience in a hosiptal environment.
- Qualifiaction in Medical Electronics
- Demonstrated experience teaching service technicians and clinical staff.
- Proven ability to work in a team envorinment.
- Demonstrated computer skills.
