About the role

We are seeking a values-driven Assistant Family Store Manager who will be assisting the Store Manager to provide supervision of the daily recycling, retail and administrative functions of the Family Store, in line with The Salvation Army (TSA) mission and values. Contribute to the store’s success as a source of recurrent income to support Corps and other social activities.

You will successfully
- Assist in the daily operations of the Family Store and ensure that it is operating at an optimum level, including retail space preparation, stock rotation, ensuring pricing policies are adhered to, cleanliness of the store, point of sale service, truck calendars, data input, cash register operations, cash handling procedures, and customer service enquiries.
- Opening & closing the store and balancing the cash registers at the end of the day as required.
- Prepare petty cash reports as required.
- Assist with the processing of all donations as required.
- Assist Store Manager to ensure effective marketing of goods for sale; maintain the appropriate visual standards of the Store ensuring the store is merchandised and displayed in a tidy manner.

You will have
- 3 years’ experience in retail and/or customer service desirable.
- 1 years’ experience in mentoring / training staff or ability to demonstrate capability to undertake.
- Marketing experience (in-store and online) is highly desirable
- Proficient in POS systems, Microsoft Office, as well as a willingness to learn and utilise other systems
- Must be willing to work Monday to Friday as roster dictates.
- Current valid driver’s licence.
- First aid certificate or willingness to uphold one.
- Incumbent needs to have a reasonable level of fitness to carry out the duties of this position.

This is a full-time, permanent position located in Caloundra, QLD. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the General Retail Award Level 4.
