DTI is coordinating the Para Planner Cadet program that runs across the State. Various positions available across South Australia with participating Councils, Agencies and Planning firms.

**The Role**:
The Para Planner is accountable to the relevant section Manager and is primarily responsible for supporting a team of Planners in various administrative and technical functions while undertaking on-the-job training in the fundamentals of urban and regional planning.

As a Para Planner you will assist with planning, development, and strategic projects while learning about the planning system in South Australia and gaining valuable experience working in a fast-paced professional office environment.

The Para Planner Cadetship Program spans approximately 2.5 years, offering you the opportunity to pursue a Diploma in Local Government (Planning) while receiving dedicated support from the workplace. Embrace your educational journey with weekly study leave, all while earning a salary. This unique program goes beyond textbooks, providing hands-on experience and expert mentorship to guide you towards achieving Planning Level 4 Accredited Professional status.

The program not only addresses your educational and professional development but also opens doors to potential ongoing employment post-graduation.

**About You**:
To be successful in this position, you must be able to demonstrate experience across the following key capabilities:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, including associated functions.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive and political issues.

**Special Conditions**
- Successful applicants may be required to obtain a satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check prior to employment. A renewal will be required every 3 years.

**Remuneration**:
ASO1 - $30,296 min - $54,680 max (however pay rates may be slightly different for each participating agency, council or firm)
