The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Sciences is seeking a passionate and experienced Associate Lecturer in Midwifery to join our team. The School offers a wide range of vocational education and training certificates, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, across a number of health disciplines, via on-campus or flexible education with online study.

The School leads the way for Bachelor of Nursing and Bachelor of Midwifery (Graduate Entry) students and boasts a strong professoriate with portfolios in learning and teaching, research and community engagement. You will be responsible for contributing to the teaching effort of the School and carrying out activities to maintain and develop your scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline. You will be expected to perform assigned teaching duties with students on and off-campus with a standard of planning, preparation, presentation, and assessment as necessary for students to achieve unit and course objectives.

**Position Requirements**:
**Essential**:

- Current registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Possession of relevant undergraduate midwifery degree.
- Possession of relevant postgraduate midwifery degree (ideally at Masters level or: an Honours Degree, Grad Cert or Grad Dip plus significant progress towards a Masters level qualification).
- A minimum of three years full time or equivalent clinical midwifery experience.
- Preparedness to travel to clinical placement sites to support industry partners and students.
- Familiar with University standards and academic writing, including how to research, write and reference assignments.
- Proven ability to teach and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate University students.
- Strong understanding of current professional and educational issues in higher education.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with students and colleagues.
- Ability to develop innovative teaching materials that ensure student learning outcomes.
- You will be expected to hold vaccinations in relation to the COVID-19 immunisation where there is a specific entry requirement for you to hold these vaccinations, as per relevant State Government directives.

**Desirable**:

- Current registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Previous experience of unit coordination within a higher education setting.
- An understanding of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) (2021) Midwifery Education Standards, including the clinical requirement.
