Our client is a federal government agency responsible for the end-to-end management of disaster and emergency relief. They are responsible for the coordination and management of responses to natural and man-made disasters, as well as the implementation of preparedness and resilience measures.

**The Opportunity**:
This opportunity is a newly created role to support the Project Manager in delivering two key projects to uplift their technical posture. Working within the Technology branch of this agency, you will have access to all areas whilst delivering these projects. Due to the importance and focus on these projects, you will have frequent exposure and interactions with the senior executive branch of the agency.

You will also be helping develop a platform that will be used by Australians nation wide during time of disasters.

This is a great opportunity for any up-and-coming PSO who isn’t afraid to help their team on all levels.

**The Role**:
Reporting and working directly with the Project Manager you will support them in delivering two-time sensitive projects: Setting up the enterprise PMO and helping prepare a business case. You will be communicating with both external and internal stakeholders throughout.

Your role responsibleness would include but not limited to:

- Contributing to the development of team objectives for short term tasks and strategic planning for longer-term initiatives
- Assisting with end-to-end management of IT and transformational projects
- Developing and maintaining the project registers and generating meaningful reports when required
- Be the first point of contacts for the suppliers and work closely with them to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships
- Assisting the team with procurement activities especially by preparing procurement plans, risk assessments and establishment of contracts

This role will suit a Project Support Officer with a learning mindset and a strong work ethic. The team that you’ll be joining would suit an easy-going, friendly personality. You will feel comfortable communicating all the way to the top levels of the agency. You will get satisfaction knowing you have helped make a real difference to Australians in need of help.

Desirables include:

- Working knowledge of MS Projects
- Experience working in DevOps/Waterfall methodologies
- Experience in procurement within the ICT space
- Experience with contract management and administrative tasks

You must be an Australian citizen and have a Baseline clearance.

**Salary / Rate**:

- $70/hr - $80/hr + super
- 6-month contract with possibility of extension
- Estimated start date March 14th 2023
