UGL Defence has recently been awarded the contract to manage the Defence fuel related Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance. We are recruiting an Mechanical Lead for Asset Inspections to join our business in what is an exciting and unique opportunity to work in the Australia Defence environment to support the national security requirements of the Nation.

**The Role**

The Mechanical Lead will be a part of the Due Diligence team, on an initial 12-month contract. Reporting to the Due Diligence Manager, you will travel around the country to all of UGL’s sites in the Defence Fuels Network. This is a very mobile role, requiring significant travel within a small team.
- Working closely with an electrical lead, you will both travel to visit fuel installation sites within your designated region
- Identify which assets are within UGL’s scope and compare this to the provided list in tender
- Inspect and document the condition of all the assets within our scope
- Work closely with operations and maintenance teams on site to understand the installations and how they operate
- Provide data back to the office based support team and provide guidance and feedback for regular report writing

**On Your First Day we expect you to bring to the team**:

- Qualified mechanical trade or engineer, with post trade/grad experience
- Experience within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar high-risk processing environments
- Proven experience inspecting and determining the condition of fuel related assets
- Ability and willingness to work remotely from various locations across the country
- Currently hold, or ability to obtain a relevant Security Clearance
