**Position Information**:
Holroyd School is located in Merrylands and is the largest School for Specific Purpose (SSP) within the NSW Department of Education. The school has a current enrolment of 190 students across 30 classes and caters for students from kindergarten to year 12 with a moderate or severe intellectual disability. Every student’s disability is diverse and dynamic and caused by a range of conditions including, intellectual, physical, behavioural, cognitive, sensory, and neurological impairments and mental illness. Over 86% of the student population have a language background other than English.

The school has strong partnerships with its community, parents and carers are supported to participate in their child’s education including in the development and review of their child's learning plan which are based on individual student learning needs and aligned to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) K-6 and 7-12 Life Skills syllabi. The school is well known in the broader school community for the provision of quality programs and education services.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated instructional leadership in leading and supporting the implementation of evidence-informed pedagogical practices in relation to the context of the school focused on the achievement of the priorities in the 2021-2025 Strategic Improvement Plan and beyond.
- Demonstrated understanding of the needs of students with a moderate or severe intellectual disability to support student growth and achievement.
- Demonstrated high level of emotional intelligence to foster a collaborative approach with staff, students and parents and the wider school community.
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible in the design and delivery of an inclusive curriculum and co-curricular programs in the context of a diverse culturally inclusive school.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
