PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To take responsibility for the duties of Family Day Care Coordinator/Educational Leader based in Melbourne Metro Region.

DUTIES:

- Able to plan, implement and evaluate programs through your strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
- Prior leadership experience in mentoring Educators to meet high standards of curriculum and documentation
- Capable to engage children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups and stages of development
- Knowledge of many different early year’s theories with no “one size fit’s all”
- Strong understanding of image of child and how to support educators with this
- Team-player who is open to different views, receptive to feedback and reflects upon best practice
- Able to Develop/Implement a QIP and has experience in the same.
- To assist in the development and implementation of the procedures involved in the initial and ongoing registration of Little Tinkers Family Day Care Educators as outlined in the Early Childhood Education and Care National Quality Framework (ECEC NQF) and Little Tinkers Policies and Procedures.
- To select, evaluate, train, support and monitor Educators to remain compliant with the ECEC NQF.
- Assist to appropriately place children and match families to Educators;
- Support and guide Educators as they work with children to provide a high-quality service that meets Government Legislation and the National Quality Standards
- To facilitate play groups and professional development sessions for Educators
- To promote and market Little Tinkers Family Day Care;
- To undertake a variety of tasks, both skilled and semi-skilled, or carry out some other task which is not specifically within your traditional role provided the task is within your core skill competencies and legal requirements.
- Regular visits to Educators to ensure regulatory compliance of the service and the safety and wellbeing of children in their care.

DESIRABLE QUALITIES
- Flexible to change, motivated to look for new opportunities, autonomous and reliable;
- Has sound understanding of FDC legislative requirements
- Professional in the role and understands relationships and boundaries and willing to work as part of the team;
- Ability to mentor and resource educators, enabling the implementation best practice and quality outcomes for children;
- Communication skills - able to communicate effectively, positively, without prejudice and build rapport easily;
- High level of written reporting skills;
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve;
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and willing to learn relevant software programs.

SELECTION CRITERIA
- Current Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care qualification
- Minimum (2) years current experience as educational leader/ early childhood teacher/ Coordinator in Early Childhood Education and Care licensed services;
- Able to obtain positive Criminal History Check;
- Current valid driver's license;
- Current First Aid (HLTAID004) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTCPR001) Certificates;
- Demonstrated effective communication skills;
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to ECEC NQF;
- Demonstrated ability to process and manage data;
- Organisational and Administrative skills;
- A passion and dedication to work to achieve quality outcomes for children and families;
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism;
- Ability to work autonomously.
