**Role & Responsibilities**

These permanent part-time and casual positions are a great opportunity to do work that matters and provide a positive influence on the lives of children & young people living in our residential care services throughout the Central Coast, Newcastle & Lower Hunter regions.

Working within a team environment, you’ll be responsible for providing support within a therapeutic model of care to children & young people with trauma backgrounds, complex disability and/or high medical needs. Daily duties will include (but are not limited to);
- Assisting with daily routines such as wake up, bedtime, personal care and meals, completion of chores and laundry, recreational activities, homework supervision and assistance.
- Transportation and support to attend appointments
- Supporting the involvement of families, facilitating and supervising contact visits.
- Supporting children and young people to develop and maintain positive family and kinship relations
- Working within the scope of each child & young person individual plan to support them to achieve their identified goals
- Maintaining high quality record keeping and documentation

**Skills & Experience**

If you have experience supporting Children & Young People, people with disability or and mental health diagnosis, we'd love to hear from you A relevant diploma level qualification (or be actively working towards this) is a requirement of the role but if you don’t have this_, please don’t stop reading_

We are invested in the success of our team members and will provide support for you to complete a Diploma of Child, Youth & Family Intervention through our preferred RTO partner (At no cost to you).

A qualification is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience.

For this role you will also need the following.
- Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID001 or HLTAID009) Certificate/s
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- The ability to form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with Children & Young People
- Willingness to assist with activities of daily living, including personal care
- Availability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster (including weekend and night shifts).
- To be considered for and appointed to a position at Life Without Barriers, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exemption certificate. You will be required to provide evidence of your vaccination status during the recruitment process._
