This is a great opportunity to play an important role in the delivery of regulatory programs that support the activities of the Professional Standards Authority within the NSW Department of Customer Service, Better Regulation Division.

The Professional Standards Authority is the NSW-based regulatory support agency for the multi-jurisdictional Professional Standards Councils. The Councils role is to lead the national system of professional standards regulation. We work with professional bodies and occupational associations to improve professional standards and protect consumers.

**About the role**:
As a member of a regulatory team, you will play a proactive role in helping to achieve key objectives, including:

- Ensure statutory decision-making by the Councils is supported by quality analysis and advice
- Deliver clear and practical encouragement and assistance to legal, accounting, building sectors and other associations to regulate professional and ethical standards for their members
- Monitor the ongoing performance and compliance of associations administering professional standards schemes
- Promote the benefits of professional standards schemes to associations, insurers, regulators and other stakeholders

**About you**:

- Experience in regulatory compliance/risk management (or similar experience)
- Proven ability to research and analyse information and make evidence-based recommendations
- Proven ability to write clearly, persuasively and concisely
- Experience in establishing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to drive initiatives to improve service delivery, manage competing priorities and respond to tight deadlines

You will understand the role of regulation in protecting consumers and have an interest in working with professions and their associations.
