**Description**
**About the role**
As an Underwriting Officer at RACQ, you will be responsible for underwriting policies that require manual intervention, ensuring adherence to agreed criteria and underwriting guidelines. Your role will involve effective communication with customers, both internal and external, and a thorough understanding of relevant regulations and codes of practice. Please note that this is a 12-Month Fixed Term Contract.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Underwrite policies requiring manual intervention in line with underwriting guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with customers to provide high-quality service.
- Manage time and organisational tasks efficiently, ensuring high standards of work.
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently and maintain accountability for practices.
- Deliver consistent quality in both internal and external customer service.
- Adapt to diverse situations and perspectives, showing flexibility and understanding.
- Maintain performance standards and stress resilience, particularly during peak times.
- Communicate technical issues in a clear, non-technical manner.
**About You**:
- In-depth knowledge of insurance regulations and codes of practice.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and uphold high standards.
- Proven track record in delivering excellent customer service.
- Adaptability and the ability to handle various situations effectively.
- Resilience under stress with consistent performance.
- Skilled in explaining technical matters to non-technical individuals.
