**HR Specialist**

As the inaugural HR Specialist at DMS Care, this position provides a great career opportunity to lead innovative HR strategies that facilitate the delivery of organisational strategic objectives. Working with the COO and Leadership team, you'll assist in the development and delivery of a wide range of HR activities, including HR strategy; talent acquisition and management; employee relations, engagement, and retention; performance and change management; team initiatives/building; and HR administration and reporting.

The primary focus of this role is to support the organisation with strategic/operational HR services, activities, initiatives, and outcomes. You'll have strong experience as a human resources practitioner, relevant qualifications in human resource management, and the ability to support your key stakeholders with a results, values-driven and collaborative approach.
- **Please note: the role is currently offered on a part-time basis, 2 days per week in our beautiful, recently refurbished office located in Kogarah.**_

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Providing reliable, timely, and expert advice on a wide range of HR matters, including complex industrial relations issues.
- Provide insightful analysis on people-related measures and guide the development of key focus areas to drive employee experience and a team culture.
- Provide generalist support to the wider team including recruitment and other operational HR responsibilities.
- Ensure consistent implementation of policies and practices, reviewing and updating as required, to support a healthy working environment and positive workplace culture.
- Lead and participate in HR projects as required by the COO such as reviewing organisational structure, recruitment and selection and the employee lifecycle, and being a champion of change within the organisation.
- Coordinate ongoing induction and handover activities (supervise management of employment records, ensuring compliance and confidentiality).
- Identify and provide essential training and professional development opportunities internally or via external providers to support the growth and currency of our staff’s skills sets.

**ESSENTIAL CRITERIA**:

- You will be an independent thinker and show initiative across your work.
- Currently working in an HR role with minimum 3 years experience, working across different awards including SCHADS, as well as with contractors.
- Excellent communication skills; written and verbal.
- The ability to build strong and effective working relationships across a variety of managers, support workers and providers both face to face and virtually.
- Demonstrated initiative, analytical, and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach towards identifying issues and implementing solutions.
- Ability to work proactively in addressing urgent priorities while maintain a strategic and project mindset to support long-term organisational goals.
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice, with resilience and a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency with or another HRIS system with the ability to pick up and learn new software with ease.
- Competency with IT equipment and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
