**Role**:
**Position Summary**

The Gardner will undertake routine tasks under the direction and supervision of the Facilities Manager and Business Manager who overseas facilities, the successful applicant will work to maintain the general appearance of the school grounds, including but not limited to the upkeep of the school grounds, lawns, plants, and garden beds

There will be a number of tasks to be performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available.***

**The Gardner is responsible to the Principal via the Business Manager and Facilities Manager**

**Essential Requirements of the Role**
- Work professionally, courteously and cooperatively with internal and external clients. This role involves close interaction with a wide range of parents, students and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all aspects of the role.
- Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills.
- Assist in ensuring that the school complies with government regulations and policies.
- Comply with OH&S requirements and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for self and others.
- Fulfil Child Safe obligations

**Responsibilities**:
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Working through a schedule of regular tasks and audits
- Undertake routine Gardening and Landscaping of the college grounds, including but not limited to; lawn mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, spraying, fertilising, mulching, edging etc..
- Assist with manual tasks such as lifting and moving furniture and equipment and assist with setting up for school events. This may involve heavy lifting in accordance with the OH&S guidelines.
- Ensure gutters and down-pipes are working effectively.
- Manage the use and maintenance of equipment within the work area
- Ensure security is maintained within the work area
- Close all locker bays at the end of each day.
- Work as part of a team to ensure that all OH & S requirements are met
- An ability to work independently with confidence and initiative, including prioritising workloads
- Liaise with Facilities Manager & Business Manager on completed works and as required
- Attend Grounds, Building & Maintenance meeting as required
- Assist with undertaking general maintenance and minor works on occasions
