The Financial Operations section is made up of approx. 50 staff responsible for managing the department's banking, treasury and cash management functions, accounts processing (accounts payable and receivable), corporate card (cab charge and credit card) and travel arrangements.
We work collectively and in conjunction with other sections within Financial Management to provide enabling services across DVA to ensure financial management and compliance requirements are met/exceeded.As a Finance Officer you will undertake a broad range of tasks including accounts reconciliations, accounts processing, administration and support in relation to finance activities.
**Duties**
- Participate in day-to-day operational duties including: accounts processing, creation of suppliers, customer service, reconciliations, corrections and records management to ensure the department's financial responsibilities and obligations are addressed in a satisfactory manner.
- Maintain awareness of Commonwealth financial compliance and legislative frameworks specific to role.
- Build rapport and maintain internal and external relationships, respond to enquiries, provide straightforward advice on accounts matters.
- Manage needs of customers to meet and exceed expectations, identify and escalate issues.
- Manage prioritisation of own workloads checking accuracy of information and work, ensuring quality processing of large volumes of accounts.
- Contribute to team goals and objectives, understand contribution to team outcomes and contribute to a supportive and cooperative team environment
- Use financial management and business systems to capture, research, analyse and reconcile data
- Perform other duties in the Financial Operations section as required, including provision of operational and administrative support and advice to Team Leaders.
